A TAG THAT STAYS READABLE

A dog tag is worn every day and knocked about constantly. Whatever is marked on it, a name, a phone number, a message or a design, has to stay clear and readable for as long as the tag is worn.

The customer wanted freedom over the design, a choice of metals, and the ability to order as few tags as they needed, even just one.

THE SOLUTION:
LASER ENGRAVING ON ALUMINIUM OR STAINLESS STEEL

Neolase, a laser marking subcontractor based in Sheffield, laser-engraves each tag with the customer's design. The laser marks the metal itself, so the engraving is permanent, not a print or a paint that can chip, fade or rub away.

Because the laser is controlled by software, any design can be marked without special tooling or a new die for each job. That is why there is no minimum order quantity: one tag, a handful or hundreds can all be made. Tags can be made in aluminium, which is light, or stainless steel, which is hard-wearing and corrosion-resistant.
